May Activities
POOL CLOSURE
Monday May 4th - Friday May 22nd the Water Volleyball Pool and the entire upper deck area will be closed for repairs. The north gates to the pools will be locked and the area will be marked off. DO NOT try to enter this area as work is being done on the walkways. The sealing takes several days to cure and set so even if it does not appear that work is being done progress is being made and any disruptions to the process will delay the end date of the project.

The Heard Museum
Continuing our indoor summer activities recommendations that the valley has to offer is the Heard Museum. Located in downtown Phoenix the museum offers American Indian Art, Artifacts and Stories mixing the modern and historical for visitors enjoyment. You can chose to walk the 12 immersive rooms alone, on a self guided tour, or schedule a guided tour through the museum itself. You can even take a break for some food or a coffee at the onsite restaurant and coffee shop. All details including hours and featured artists are available through the website you can access by clicking here.

Around the Park
Fire Ban
We are now on a county burn ban meaning no more fires at night by the clubhouse, and no fire pits on sites. Propane grills are still permitted.
Vehicles including Golf Carts/UTVS
Do's - Working headlights
Quiet
All Items Secured
Don'ts- Overly Loud Music
Sound Machines Mimicking Emergency Sirens or first responder Sounds
Unsafe Items Hanging Off or Out of Vehicle
Correcting Behavior
As a member, resident, or frequent guest you have the right, and some may call it a responsibility, to correct others if they are breaking resort rules. Nicely and calmly tell the person what they are doing wrong and how to change it. If kindly telling someone to correct their behavior does not work please contact a member of management by calling the office immediately (if after hours use emergency number).
Free Tables
We have one location for people to place items they no longer want but are still in good condition for anyone to take and that is in the mail room. There should not be free tables all around the park at sites any longer. If you have things you no longer want and believe someone else would benefit from place the items on the shelving unit inside the mail room.

Nothing Bad Ever Happens to Me
Styrofoam, plastic bags and other non-recyclable garbage thrown into the recycling bins; food waste placed in the auxiliary trailer; recyclables tossed in the dumpster; broken glass, garbage spills and junked items left on the concrete pad — these are just samplings of daily occurrences which require someone else to come along and clean up the mess. Why? Nothing bad ever happens to me; why should I care?
Let’s keep this simple: BAG YOUR TRASH AND TIE YOUR BAGS! Reflect on what happens when Styrofoam packing gets broken by the compactor. Those little inert beads float through the air like a plastic blizzard. When the wind catches them, they pollute our home. The same goes for scrap pieces of paper, empty plastic bags, or any other light weight items being discarded. Keep all rubbish confined in a trash bag and use those colorful draw strings to securely close the bag; tie the grocery bags too. Why is there such an aversion to tying bags? Nothing bad ever happens to me; why should I care?
Let’s consider something: RECYCLE WHAT CAN BE, THROW AWAY WHAT CANNOT BE! No one wants to live in filthy surroundings. Decals on the front of both recycling bins outline what can and cannot be reutilized, yet non-recyclables like clothing, pillows, “personal devices,” used oil, furniture, and plastic bags are pulled from the bins every day; and the Ranch is fined for garbage placed in recycling! Contrariwise, lots of cans and bottles are being tossed into the compactor and needlessly going to the landfill. Why is properly separating recyclables from the waste so difficult? Nothing bad ever happens to me; why should I care?
Let’s think about this: LEAVE NO FOOD OUTSIDE THE DUMPSTER! The compactor gets locked every Monday and Thursday after sunset to prepare for pick-up the following morning. Watching the same parade of people after hours is beyond comprehension but there is a trailer to accommodate; however, we cannot be placing bags — tied or otherwise — with kitchen scraps to sit in the open overnight. There are hungry vermin, coyotes, javelinas and other critters ready to tear into the garbage; we’ve seen this scenario repeatedly. Why is food waste still left in the open? Nothing bad ever happens to me; why should I care? Let’s be part of the community: IF YOU MAKE A MESS, CLEAN IT UP! Accidents happen, bags break, things spill; walking away expecting somebody else to clean it up afterwards is downright rude. These aforementioned points apply also for the trash and recycling barrels dotted around the Ranch. If items are too big or bulky to fit into the smaller barrels need to be taken to the compactor, not just left on the ground. Naysayers will blame visitors for these concerns but that’s only partially true. Why is it so easy to finger-point? Nothing bad ever happens to me; why should I care?
We close our eyes to the nasty habits with nothing to fear, like running on a treadmill out of control; it’s insanity. Try to believe even though there’s no perfect system but, when the lights go out, sweat and gratitude is why I’ll stay just another day — goodbye-goodbye.
