From their first dance to their latest adventure, their love story has been a tale of shared dreams, inside jokes, and lots of blood, sweat at tears to make those dreams come true. Don’s quiet demeanor and Patty’s infectious laughter have become legendary around here.
So, dust off your dancing shoes, grab a slice of cake (or two), and let’s create new memories together. Whether you’ve known them for years or just met them today, all are welcome to celebrate this remarkable milestone.

Fire Lane Sign
There is a new FIRE LANE SIGN accross from the office by the freshly painted RED rocks!
DO NOT PARK in that area ever! Do not park there to check in. Do not park there to check your mail. Do not park there EVER. This is a highly congested area that must be kept clear at all time to allow for emergency vehicles to access our residents. Do not park anywhere near the red rocks at any time for any reason! Thank you
AANR Conventions are coming to Shangri La!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS & call for reservations after April 8th, 2024! August is going to be a fun-filled and exciting month at Shangri La Ranch!
Shangri La will be hosting the AANR West convention August 9-11, AND the NATIONAL AANR Convention will be held right here at Shangri La August 12-18!
There will be activities, opportunities to learn, become involved, and make memories to last a lifetime. Shangri La Ranch is honored to host these prestigious events! Call for reservations after April 8th and plan to join us for all the fun!
Hedgehog Cactus
This species of cactus is listed as endangered and is protected by state law. These spined cactus tend to be small, only 10-12” in height, and have between 9 and 12 vertical ribs spaced uniformly around each stem. One of the first cactus to bloom in the spring, their blossoms can be white, pink, magenta, yellow, or yellow-green. Let’s all be mindful of this little desert gem!
As the weather warms up and we enjoy our pool time, management would like to remind us all that if we see something happening that is inappropriate or against our rules of etiquette, say something! Management is always available to speak with someone violating acceptable behavior!
It would seem we would all know by now, that the posted speed limit is 5 MPH for all residents! There are measures being discussed to force us to slow down, and we don’t want these “obstacles”, so let’s all SLOW DOWN to 5MPH

Safety First!
In life, unexpected flames can leap into our path. Arm yourself with a fire extinguisher!
Picture this: You’re cooking a culinary masterpiece, and suddenly, the stove decides to host its own fireworks show. Your fire extinguisher stands ready to save the day. (Keep one under the sink!)
Remember, it’s not just for the kitchen. Office space? Check. Garage? Check. That cozy reading nook where you light scented candles? Double-check! (I've got one in the bedroom too!)
Stay safe, stay savvy! Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
If you missed the talent show in January, you missed seeing Shagri La Ranch's very own stars! From story telling, to cello playing, singing performances, juggling, comedy, and Whistling Tummies, the talent shown was AMAZING! A wonderful night with fantastically talented folks, so be sure to watch for the next one and plan to attend. Kudos to all of our performers!
February was a very busy month, with Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras being celebrated at the dance. The decorations added to the embiance, as the couples danced to the romantic tunes our very own DJ Gaz chose, and the party atmosphere was in full swing with DJ Frankel at the sound board. Kudos to all of our very talented DJs and KJ!
Special Kudos go out to Keith (and his beautiful purple mustang) for steadfastly maintaining our 5mph speed limit every time he drives within the ranch!

- Promotion: By educating government officials, employers, and the public, AANR actively encourages nude recreation.
- Support Services: AANR provides essential support services and fosters a vibrant community for its members.
- Preservation: The organization is committed to maintaining the financial stability, integrity, and resilience of AANR.
AANR, North America’s largest and most established organization of its kind, traces its origins back to 1931. Over the years, it has served more than 213,000 individuals across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and beyond. These members relish clothing-free experiences in their own backyards, private pools, and at over 180 nudist resorts and affiliates.
DID YOU KNOW THAT AANR ALSO OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH THE AANR EDUCATION FOUNDATION?
The deadline every year is May 1st and the scholarships are open to AANR members, plus children and/or grandchildren of AANR members. There are three scholarships offered: $1,500, $1,000, and $500. It is not limited to high school seniors or undergraduates. Graduate students as well as students planning on attending trade schools are also eligible.

BAILEY'S IRISH CREAM BROWNIES
You will need:
Brownies:
- 2 (18 ounce) packages fudge brownie mix (such as Duncan Hines)
- 1 cup Irish cream liqueur (such as Baileys
- ⅔ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 5 tablespoons Irish cream liqueur (such as Baileys)
- 4 cups confectioners' sugar, or as needed
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter the bottom of a 10 ½ x 15 ½-inch jelly roll pan.
- Make the brownies: Empty both brownie mix packages into a large bowl. Add Irish cream liqueur, oil, and eggs; beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Spread batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven until brownies are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 20 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely, 20 to 30 minutes.
- While the brownies are cooling, make the frosting: Beat butter in a large bowl until smooth. Add Irish cream liqueur and beat until creamy. Slowly beat in confectioners' sugar, 1 cup at a time, until frosting is desired stiffness.
- Spread frosting on cooled brownies. Cut into 30 squares.

WINR is Coming to Shangri La Ranch!
WINR (Women in Nude Recreation) is coming to Shangri La Ranch and will be hosting a workshop on Saturday March 30th at 1pm.
For the women: Andee will be speaking about her own journey into the nudist community, her experiences as WINR chair, and the WOW campaign & calendar. Learn ways to battle negative self-talk and get strategies for boosting self-esteem which in turn creates stronger mental well-being.
Additionally, any women who would like to be a part of the 2024 WOW campaign and the 2025 calendar, Andee will be able to assist you with that. Come and enjoy some charcuterie and a glass of wine at 1pm, on Saturday, March 30th in the Conference/Library Room.
For the guys: Tom will host a get together with any men who would like to engage in conversation. Have questions about AANR? Like to raise awareness of issues and concerns? Want to just sit and enjoy each other's company? Beer & pretzels provided on Saturday March 30th, at 1pm in the Cafe Courtyard/Fireplace.
